As part of the Community 50+ Programme, members came together on 17 October 2026 for an enjoyable afternoon of music, conversation and friendship.

The session, led by Zaim Pašić, provided an opportunity for participants to socialise, share experiences and learn about different cultures in a warm and welcoming environment. A highlight of the afternoon was an introduction to sevdalinka, the traditional folk music of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Through music, conversation and the sharing of song meanings, participants explored the cultural stories and traditions behind this unique musical heritage.

The gathering brought together people from diverse backgrounds and reflected the spirit of inclusion, mutual respect and cultural exchange that lies at the heart of the Community 50+ Programme. Participants enjoyed lively discussions on a range of topics, while music provided a shared experience that transcended language and cultural differences.

The warm atmosphere was complemented by traditional Bosnian coffee served at Džezva Café, together with homemade refreshments kindly prepared by volunteers Sandra Saldhana and Amira Džonlić. Sandra also treated attendees to a traditional Brazilian carrot cake topped with chocolate, adding an international flavour to the afternoon.

Reflecting on the event, Community 50+ participant Semira Jakupović described it as "a wonderful and enjoyable gathering where people came together through conversation, music and friendship."

The event reflected the aims of the Community 50+ Programme by promoting social inclusion, reducing isolation, encouraging cultural understanding and strengthening community connections.
